very slow speed

Hi there, I'm new to the forum but not new to imgburn. I've been using imgburn for a couple of years, and i've never had any problems with it. But since a couple of weeks my speed has gotten really slow. Now I can only burn in 1x speed or somewhere around there. I usually burned in 12-16x speed and I use the same DVD's as I've allways done - Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 16x.

Any help would be appreciated, since it's now takes me an hour to burn instead of 15-20 mins as it usually did.

thanks man, I actually searched the forum with "slow speed" but didn't find anything interesting. Maybe because I'm lazy, anyways. Thanks for your help. I will check this out and hope it helps.

Hi Raxxan,

Here was my problem (similar) and the solution.

You'll get a better answer with a burn log included.

Cheers,

You have already been told the answer.

You have DMA issues follow the advice in the link I posted http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...7entry967 It takes you straight to the relevant bit

After you get that sorted, right click on the drive description in ImgBurn and choose check for firmware update and download SB07 and update your drives firmware. Remove any disc in tray then close before starting update.

Yea I just did what you said, currently burning in 4x speed now instead of 1x. Much better then before, but still I wanted it to be 12x and it only goes upto 4x. I'll post a log when my burn is complete and maybe you can help me again.

edit:

Now it's completed, it froze on 92% for a while but it got going again. I will post a log and maybe someone knows why.

I'm using PLEXTOR DVD + /-RW PX - 755 SA and Verbatim DVDs.

Everything is very good, but I need burn DVD disc with lowest (1X speed) speed, but the device does not allow me to do so.

I have the latest PLEXTOR PX
