rookie Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hi Everyone First tiem here and not that computer literate so please be gentle. Been using Ner0 6 for couple of years (sorry) but now not functioning and this site was recommended. Have downloaded and burnt a video file from my hard drive to a DVD without problem and very impressed. Is it possible to burn a video file from my hard drive that will play on my home dvd player? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Rookie
mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Use DVD Flick of ConvertXtoDVD to convert your video then use ImgBurn to burn the disc (have a look in our Guides section if you're in doubt about ImgBurn).
rookie Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Many thanks for the quick reply. I have now got DVD Flick & am currently encoding one of my files. Just curious why do i need to burn the encoded file on image burner when dvd flick also has the facility to do this for stand alone dvd players?...Is it not very good? Thanks again, much appreciated Rookie
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 DVD Flick is an encoding/conversion program, it doesn't burn - it uses ImgBurn for that part.
rookie Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Wow I take it they call you lightening for the speed of your replies. Many thanks anyway. Excuse me if Im being dumb but the dvd flick guide tells me how to encode and save to my hard drive, there is then a section which deals with burning the encoded file to DVD for playing in a stand alone player, this involves going into the burn section of the profile and ticking box 'burn to disc'. Am I missing something? Thanks again much appreciated
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I don't think so, no. Then again, I don't use DVD Flick so can't say for sure. Either way you look at it, ImgBurn is being used somewhere. You can have DVD Flick call it up automatically or you can load ImgBurn manually, point it to the VIDEO_TS folder that DVD Flick has created and burn the files that way.
