LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Update your firmware and try again. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/LH-20A1L/files.html Try drive might do a better job of burning those discs at 4x rather than 2.4x. Also, try giving the drive a clean (with a cleaning disc).
jadederea Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Thank you very much for your speedy reply. I upgraded firmware, put the write speed at max and it is burning. However, the Verbatim discs I got were 2.4x speed and img burn says it is burning at 4.0x will that be an issue? Thanks again for your time in this matter.
Cynthia Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Some more recent burners can burn 2.4x rated media at a higher speed - like the 4x. If it verified the disc without issues - it should be OK. I guess you have it set to MAX write speed. If you want to burn at 2.4x - you need to select that speed in the drop down list/box.
