Burning BD-R (DL)

Ok, I have tried to burn a movie which is 46.6 gig onto a Sony BD-R. Aprox half way thru the burn, it comes up with an error. (servo error, trying to write the disk aprox 20+ times and errored out). Now I know there is nothing wrong with the movie cause i tested it with a burn on a sony

BD-RE and it played fine.

I have changed to a different burning software and its burning it correctly so the problem is within imgburn.

Note: The file is an UDF 2.5 iso file which anydvd made.

Has any else had problems buring BD-R's from sony (DL - 50 gig)?

Is there a setting that I should use?

I haven't found anything on this website stating such...

I 22:17:37 Destination Media Type: BD-R (Disc ID: MEI-T01-01) (Speeds: 2x)

W 23:02:46 Failed to Write Sectors 10534816 - 10534847 - Reason: Tracking Servo Failure

The error is coming directly from your burner: it couldn't burn the media you're using. Try with Verbatim BD-R DL blanks if you can find them, or at least try with other brands (LG is crap and from what we've heard so is TDK) until you find one that works OK with your burner.

So if thats is the problem why did the other burner software worked without a hitch. I know that Verbatim makes good disk but they are a little bit more pricey. It seems that the other software works better on Sony disks (BD-R and BD-RE) so I'll use that. (NCH software).

The software shouldn't have anything to do with it.

For the entire burn, the software repeats the same 'Write' command over and over again.

Maybe NCH uses the Incremental write type instead of DAO. Try that if you want to, it's in the Settings.

Either way, this is a drive/firmware/media combo issue as everything should work equally well.

With the new version that is out, do you think maybe this will fix the problem I was having? It does say something about this in the notes with the

new version???
