to burn i'm using the correct verbatim discs and my newest gen macbook pro (the superdrive can burn DL). a couple hours ago i burned a fallout 3 disc which worked perfectly.

i'm now trying to burn a call of duty: world at war disc (got the download from here) that abgx says is completely legit. and i created a .dvd file with it but when i try burning imgburn errors around 45-50%. i've made two coasters so far and trying to prevent a third this time. so i've got a burner that works because it burned fallout 3 fine, i made a new .dvd file with abgx that's linked fine, and the iso itself goes through abgx perfectly.

any ideas? here's the log. could it be the speed? 2.4x, although usually perfect, maybe too fast? ...too slow?

Yeah but it's not working now is it.

1 successful burn doesn't mean everything is 100% perfect.

For all you know, that burn could have been VERY close to failing too. Yes, a burn either succeeds or fails (which is what you the user would see) but the quality of the burn can vary greatly.

For a decent burn you need a good drive/firmware/media combo.

You're already using the best media (MKM-001-00) so all you have left to change is the drive and the firmware.

Finding firmware for matshita drives is like getting blood out of a stone - leaving just the drive itself.

1x doesn't exist.

I 06:25:41 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) (Speeds: 2.4x)

You could select 540000000x and it would still burn at 2.4x.

It's just hit and miss success/failure.

Stick with it if you're happy to keep throwing money away on expensive coasters.

MKM-001-00 are the best option for the majority of drives though so at least that's something.
