So you're burning burning inside the VirtualBox environment there?

Have you tried just using Wine and loading ImgBurn up that way?

Have you tried with other media?

Burning as to instructions:

- to write the Image to a disk

- we select a folder where it is allocated

- write

Under Wine Imgburn does not see a drive

With other media the same situation

Then you probably need to configure Wine properly.

Look in the Guides forum for the guide I wrote telling you how to do it - with Ubuntu anyway.

Failing that, change the I/O interface to ASPI. (within the settings on the I/O tab)

With Wine while I understand, but it would be desirable and in VirtualBox to write

The point I was trying to make is that it could just be a VirtualBox bug.

It inserts its own device between the software (ImgBurn) and the physical drive, hence why it gets the 'VBOX' name.

If it doesn't do a very good job of passing the commands along, that's when you run into problems like the one you were having.

Of course to you'll need to install the WavPack DirectShow filter in Wine too if that's what you're trying to burn.

What other media have you tried with? Have you tried with some decent quality (i.e. Taiyo Yuden) CD-R discs?

In my country not probably almost to buy Taiyo Yuden

And one not a modest question: and why you do not wish to create ImgBurn for Linux?

I have enough to do with making a Windows version!

I have no interest in Linux and haven't a clue how to compile apps for it - and I doubt my development environment would handle it anyway.
