LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Are you not able to use SPTI? If you arre, why did you start with it on Patin Couffin and then change to ASPI? Have you tried burning at other speeds? Have you tried using decent discs? (Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden)

LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Is that a real install of XP or are you running it inside a virtual machine / under Linux+Wine? Because on a proper XP install, SPTI should work fine. As it's not, I wonder if perhaps you've got a dodgy filter driver installed... click the Tools menu, then the filter driver load order one. Click the 'copy to clipboard' button and then 'paste' the clipboard into your next reply.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Yes it's different and it explains why SPTI didn't work but ASPI did - you haven't configured your drives properly in WineCfg. Anyway, that's not going to make any difference to the I/O error you got in your initial log.... for that you need to refer back to post 4 where I hinted at changing the write speed and buying better media.

Erm. So I should just change the write speed then? ALright! I'll try it again! THanks!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Yes. Don't forget, these are your choices: I 13:22:55 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x)

Cynthia Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Hey I got the same problem even if I did change the speed. In your first post you used 4x write speed. In the last post you used the same speed. You main problem is that the burn is so crappy that it can't be read back. Can't you mount the burner in a true Windows computer and flash it with the firmware mmalves linked to?
