mmalves Posted September 4, 2009 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Update ImgBurn. Check if that computer has USB 2.0 ports (you can use SIW to find out). If it doesn't then you'll have to use another computer which does have USB 2.0 ports, since USB 1.1 is too slow even for 1x DVD burning. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Your drive will be in constantly be using the 'burnproof' function if you put it on a usb 1.0 port - and that's not something you want to be doing. Cynthia Posted September 5, 2009 Share Posted September 5, 2009 The speed through an USB 1.x connection is so slow that hardly the mouse can keep up with it. A DVD burner needs to be feeded with much higher speeds like from an USB 2.0 connection. You best solution is to buy an internal USB 2.0 card and then put the burner to that connection.
