Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again.

Also check the fragmentation of your D: drive and avoid using the computer while burning.

Perhaps time to get a good external USB burner. If your current one can't burn the best discs on the market - I see a dark future for it.

Might be worth to try to clean the laser head with a cleaning disc first.

I can burn the both DVD 4.7GB and DVD 8.5GB using Nero sucessfully, but it has Layer break problem. I can also successfully burn DVD9 with the help of softwares like CloneDVD, DVDFab etc, but they also have Layer break problem.

I am only facing DVD Burning problem with DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn only........

Which firmware update have you tried?

Most certainly the one you posted in post #2 for the original version of that model.

Try this page. There is an autodetect update function.

I tried to get updates from the HP site suggested by your goodself, but it has the firmware updates for Windows Vista only, whereas i am using Windows XP SP3.

There's no reason what-so-ever that if you use the same drive, same media and the same write speed that all programs wouldn't produce identical results.

All the program does is feed data to the drive. It has no control over the burn quality, or even if the burn is successful at all really. A 'write error' in one should be a 'write error' in another.
