stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Hi ive been using zerodefex dl discs and until now had no problems. Bought a new batch and kept getting a calibration error so purchased verbs and still had the same message. Thought it must be my writer, I originally had a pioneer, so i purchased an optiarc 7200a and it wont even recognise dl discs, even one with info on it, can anyone help please Many thanks Stoneyman
Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, stoneyman! I have one of those burners and DL works here. How is it attached SATA/IDE? You get any message in the lower part of the programs info panel?
stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Hi and thanks for replying so quickly. Its attached via IDE and the message i get is incompatible medium installed
Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 If you use the read mode and put in one of those DL disc - can you post the information in the right window (the disc info part).

LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 If the drive can't initialise the disc then there probably isn't much you can do beyond just trying to clean it. Is the drive still under warranty?
stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 I just bought the drive yesterday cause I thought my pioneer wasnt working cause it kept rejecting the discs
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Do you have access to another PC you can try the drives in/on (via the USB cable or something)?
Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I guess you updated the firmware, as you have the latest one, is that the original one?
stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 No I dont, my last drive was giving me calibration errors even with verbs so I assumed my drive was naffed and bought a new one yesterday, and this one isnt recognising dual layers
stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Yes I have that latest firmware, just about tearing my hair out though, everything was going fine and then i got a new batch of discs and everythings not working. zerodefex, verbs and two drives later, ahhhhh
Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Tried to reflash the burner with the same firmware again?
stoneyman Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Ive tried that, im absolutely stumped, think i will take my new burner back tommorow and get a different one, still seems strange that both burners and both packs of disc are not working,
