Exige
Okay, so before I say anything, it's probably not my Memorex discs or the images, I checked the images... and my friend has successfully burned 3 backups on his computer. Anyway, here is the error report... any help is great, thanks. I 14:28:43 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! LIGHTNING UK!
Try at 2.4x. See if you can find a firmware update for you drive. Try cleaning the drive. Read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
Exige
Well, they do burn on my friend's drive perfectly... I tried to find a firmware update but to no avail. Do you recommend doing the regionfree firmware hack?
Cynthia
Your friend has the same burner?
mmalves
The regionfree stuff has nothing to do with this problem. Please read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 If your friend doesn't have exactly the same burner model and firmware then it isn't a fair comparison, is it? //edit too slow again
Exige
Well true, but to assert it may not be the media, but I can see how certain medias and certain drives may disagree. The whole thing burns but doesnt finalize... I ust change the firmware to an unofficial B10 from the Apple A12 thanks to RPC1.org's file server. I'll post here after this burn with results. Exige
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT install BP10 for the GSA S10N... works worse. This is coaster after coaster over here, and I can't reflash with anything else. Stuck on BP10 until I find a solution.
LIGHTNING UK!
You should never go between firmware from different OEM's. What does the AP12 firmware flasher say when you try to flash it back?
Exige
Says nothing. here is the image:
LIGHTNING UK!
You should be able to use MCSE to patch the AP12 firmware to work with your (what is now) BP10 drive. http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSE/
Exige
Hey that worked great, thanks a lot. Loaded up the orig EXE in MCSE, saved it out, and voila, worked. I'll try burning again.
Exige
Alright, I though tit burned alright, it got to the end, but it had similar errors. I tried to burn again in safe mode, and I got this from ImgBurn: ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 19 10 20 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 1642528 - 1642559 Sense Area: 70 00 04 00 00 00 00 0A 35 01 04 3E 09 01 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Tracking Servo Area Could that possibly pinpoint the issue more-so? And I'm going to create a second boot of windows Vista 32 bit, hopefully that does this issue some good.
mmalves
You can try all you want but it still boils down to your burner being unable to write the media you're using. Can you not try some Verbatim blanks to see if it isn't a burner problem?
Exige
Yeah, I'll buy some of those sometime soon and repost.
