Posted September 6, 2009 Share Posted September 6, 2009 Just google "The semaphore timeout period has expired" Common problem, your drive and the usb chipset on your board don't get along. You need one with a Silicon Image chipset on it. Normally the listing will mention Sil3112 (2 port) / Sil3512 (Same as 3112 but a bit newer) / Sil3114 (4 port).
