mmalves
Where's the log of that burn? Look in ImgBurn's Help menu.
LIGHTNING UK!
4x is the only speed your drive is reporting. That doesn't change by just changing the OS. It's purely a drive/firmware/media combo thing.

LIGHTNING UK!
No offence but I don't believe you. Exact same drive / firmware / media (dye) ? If it only lists 4x under Vista / 7 then it'll only list 4x under Win 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP and any other OS you can get the drive/ImgBurn running in. Actually i don't recall 2.4x speed listed in XP but i always burn 2.4x and speed wasnt changing during the burn process. In seven its stable only with 4x speed otherwise it growing up to 6-7x. I shouldn't worry about 4x speed?
LIGHTNING UK!
No because that's the speed your drive is designed to burn those discs at.
