Thsan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Greetings Hello, I have just bought a 360 and wanted to burn some games. But I get a problem when I am trying to burn games, it says "Device not ready( Incompatible medium installed). I have a Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200S with the newest firmware installed and I am using Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL discs. I have ofc checked if my dvd writer can burn DL discs. Do I need to buy the 2,4 speed discs or a new burner? Sorry if there are some spelling mistakes english is not my first language ImgBurn.log
mmalves Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive, and if it still shows that error then you should get a new burner. It might be worth trying those blanks on other burners to rule them out as the problem.
Cynthia Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I have the same burner and it should work with all the available speeds with that 8x media. The best speed is 4x. Sure it's an empty disc you put in?
Thsan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) Yes the disc is empty. I have tryed with some normal dvd+r plates not DL and they seem to work Edited September 22, 2009 by Thsan
Cynthia Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Dumb question. The image file (ISO?) is that for a DVD DL media? How big is the ISO file? You are in write mode when you get that error message?
Thsan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 The file I am trying to burn is a xbox 360 game its 7,29 gb. I get the error when I insert a DvD+R DL disc, it does not matter what mode I am in, I still get the same message
Cynthia Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Not even in Read mode it will display the info about the disc in the right corner of the window?
Thsan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 No info about the disc anywhere when I am in read mode
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Your drive can't initialise the discs full stop. So either it's dirty/broken or your discs are.
Cynthia Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Tried to flash it again with that firmware? It might got wrong during the installation.
Thsan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Yes I have tryed to flash it again, still got the same message. I have ordered a new burner now
