kevin666 Posted October 4, 2009 Share Posted October 4, 2009 i dont have any problems just it hangs when i start burning two things at once. it seems like whatever one starts doing the OPC first makes the other hang untill the OPC is done. i know i could probably just disable it but it kindof seems like a bug. LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 They normally have 1 when they don't really have any at all - like in all modern Intel chipsets. Then they have to use a 3rd party controller chip to give you an IDE port and a couple more SATA's. Do you know what type of controller it is? The latest motherboard bios and drivers might help but IDE doesn't really like dealing with 2 drives at the same time. The OPC command isn't one that the drive returns control from instantly (known as Immediate I/O) so the machine is kinda stuck whilst it processes it... that's what you're seeing here. SATA drives would probably be the way to go but even then I can't say that I've ever tried burning 2 at exactly the same time with OPC enabled.
