nbssage Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Hello ImgBurn community! I've been a long time user and would like to thank Lightning UK myself since I never got a chance to do so. Keep up the great work! I haven't had one problem EVER till now! Ok so here is the platform and what im working with: -Fresh Install of Win7 Ultimate x86 (GRP release w/ Win7 loader) -ImgBurn 2.5.0.0 (running as admin w/ no compatibility mode) -Hitachi-LG SATA burner (worked PERFECT under XP. not one bad burn!) -Burning X360 games (images roughly 7.3gb w/ layerbreak of 1913760) -Verbatim (Malaysian) 2.4x DL+DVD media I finally "upgraded" to win7 from winPro and its been a big hassle but this problem is by far the one pissing me off the most! I que up a *.dvd file from one of my local sata drives and start the burn and it either locks win7 up COMPLETELY or just sits there with 0% in device buffer. Never did this before! So any help of tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm no genius but i know a thing or two around windows. I personally believe that something is crowding up the I/O and not letting ImgBurn get enough device buffer... I would think i could find a program to explore processes to see whats going on. I could be wrong! But at least i tried! If you have any questions or would like to see any logs please let me know! All questions will be answered ASAP! System Specs (relative) -DVD Rom Drive: SCSI\CdRomHL-DT-STDVD-RAM_GH22NS301.02 (also latest OEM firmware installed on drive) -Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe (AMD ACPI-x86) -Motherboard Chipset: Nvidia nForce 570 SLi I have installed the latest drivers for the vista platform in all categories and installed them in compatibility mode for Vista. All my device drivers seemed to of installed flawlessly. Only had a hiccup with the GPU driver but a Window Update handled that and now I haven't had any video related problems... I hope it helps! Also upon startup of ImgBurn this is what my output window states: I 18:46:58 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 18:46:58 Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (6.1, Build 7600) I 18:46:58 Total Physical Memory: 3,668,472 KB - Available: 2,621,884 KB I 18:46:58 Initialising SPTI... I would presume ""R1.17.51.00_eSATA.zip" but you may know something I don't! EDIT: I chose "R1.17.51.00_eSATA.zip" and everything seems to be working perfect! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 I use the one you did It means the drives show up under the system tray icon - where you can remove them safely from the system - and write cache is enabled so they work quickly! (that's more an issue for HDD's though) So I have to ask, is your drive on an SATA port that's connected to the Nvidia chipset or the JMicron one? Yes I believe, hence, it would explain why my eSATA external hard drives weren't showing up when i turn them on either. Now they work perfect!
