StridrKK Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Thanks for the quick reply...however it's a dual layered Memorex dvd. Also, my friend has successfully burned 4/4 games. His model is the same exact model as mine, as we got it the same day. So the issue with brand doesn't make much sense. Why wouldn't it work on mine when it works with his and he has the same laptop/driver as me? Sorry if this post sounded whiny.
mmalves Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Maybe his batch of memorex blanks are slightly less crappy than yours? In fact, that's exactly the problem with non-Verbatim dual-layer media: its quality is anyone's guess. Verbatim is the only one that keeps a high quality standard for their blanks, and that's why they work when others don't. I 15:32:30 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,912,976I 15:32:30 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: ECC Block Boundary Even if it did burn OK it wouldn't work since the layerbreak is wrong. Use the Create DVD File feature from ImgBurn's Tools menu, add that ISO to the list, set the layerbreak to 1913760 and save the .dvd file in the same place as the .iso image.
StridrKK Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) We're using the same batch... But I'll follow your steps regarding the tools menu. Edit: Maybe the fact that the file was a ".iso" as opposed to a ".dvd". My friends files were all ".dvd"'s Edit 2: I'll download a different file. If it still doesn't work then I guess I'll buy Verbatim. Thanks anyway. Final Edit: Thanks for the help, but it turns out I was correct about the missing file. It downloads perfect now. Thanks anyway for the thought out responses, I'll be sticking with Memorex for a while. Edited October 12, 2009 by StridrKK
