CerialPhreak Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 (edited) So I'm trying to burn an iso to a DL with my 112D. I checked out this board and saw other people having issues with this drive but they dont seem to have the same problem as me. I keep getting Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Power Calibration Area Error. This happens without fail, no matter what speed I have it set at. When i checked off 'test mode' and tried that it told me that test mode was not available for this media (or something to that effect) and that data would actually be written to the disc. Oddly enough it got past the Set L0 Data Zone section and wrote about 80% of the data then failed. Any insight? Thanks in advance. Oh and before you point it out, I am in fact using Maxell discs, not Virbatim. I bought them before I got Imgburn, and they're not exactly a bargain brand. I also have the latest firmware for the drive. Log for normal write: I 02:00:04 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Test mode doesn't work on DVD+R format discs, the program tells you that when you try. So it getting beyond the setting layer break bit is just a fluke.

Any other idea's before i go buy another drive? And is there any particular drive you guys would recommend?
CerialPhreak Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 I just ended up saying "the hell with it" and bought an LG GH22LP20. Works well, and it was about 50 usd. Thanks for the help.
