I have a RW-DVD (with some files in it) and try to burn an image in it. Imgburn asks me if I want to erase the disc before and I say "yes". After that, the following error occurs: it can't be erased because the disc is "write protected" (as shown on log below). How can a RW disc be write protected...?

It occurs with diferent RW-DVD brands.

PC: HP Pavilion tx2000.

Imgburn: 2.5.0.0

No problem when I do it with R-DVD or when I try the same with another PC (same RW-DVD).

Thank you.

This isn't a bug.

My guess is that the drive simply doesn't support the 'MBI01RWG 20' MID/dye (the brand name doesn't mean anything, they could all be using the same MID/dye).

Well, that or you've got some packet writing software installed that's blocking access to the drive/disc.
