moN1Ker Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I've been using ImgBurn for some years now, though I haven't splurged on DL yet I have a fair amt of experience (I think) building, reading, & burning DVD5s... But since last night this has been happening on every DVD I've tried to burn. I'm in the middle of a 3-day burning binge, so it's not like anything changed since my last successful burn, I just loaded another ISO and went to burn and made 3 coasters before comin to you guys. I know I should use better discs, but for now this is all I have... ; //****************************************\\; ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 - Log ; Wednesday, 23 December 2009, 16:21:01 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 15:12:12 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Update your drive's firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-H55N/files.html Try the other 'supported' write speeds.
moN1Ker Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 Update your drive's firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-H55N/files.html Try the other 'supported' write speeds. I was about to do that, but paused when I read the readme and it involved switching my drive in my case, as it's a pain to get in there so I figured I'd wait until someone confirmed it. Why is it I wasn't getting this error before, except once maybe every hundred writes, and I'm getting it all the time now?
mmalves Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Because cheap media's quality is anyone's guess? As for the firmware update, close all programs, remove any disc from the burner, close the tray and remember to reboot the computer after updating is finished.
