LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Buy better discs, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Update ImgBurn too.
XLave Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 Buy better discs, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Update ImgBurn too. Same disc are burner in my old pentium 4 with the same version, the same images and same SO (Seven)....why doesn't work with the Vaio??
mmalves Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Because the burner in your Vaio doesn't support the blanks you're using. And please do update ImgBurn on all your computers because we don't support old versions.

mmalves Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. Also look for the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or SATA controller (use SIW to identify your hardware).

LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Where did you find such old discs?! Get some of the more recent 8x (MCC 02RG20) /16x (MCC 03RG20) Verbatim discs. Better still, some using the Taiyo Yuden dyes (TYG02 / TYG03).
XLave Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 The disc are ok, i'd write that image in my old prescott and all goes ok, writed at 2x like in vaio and it works. I think the problem is in the disc writer of the vaio.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Until you find some discs that the drive definitely supports, you can't be sure. Being a bluray drive it's obviously quite new so it'll have firmware designed for the discs that are actually in common use today. The 'MCC 01RG20' MID is not common these days.
timmyleeturner Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I finally bought an external USB Burner and all problems were solved. Seems my old Laptop DVD Burner isn't cutting the mustard anymore, so I assume that a good cleaning is the issue. I was being told it was my Disc's, but I use the better Verbatim all the time (bout a hundred a month) for data burning and never and issue. Also, my problem was also that my Old Media Jukebox 12 views both of my burners, but could not find a way to direct it to the new one regardless of my settings. IMGBurn is awesome. ImgBurn.log
