fsh42na Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) I'm new to blu ray burning so I purchased a couple of bd-re disks to use while I'm on my learning curve. I successfully burned a back up copy of a blu ray movie, but need to know how to erase the disk for reuse. When I use imgburn, it tells me the disk is not empty and if I proceed it'll overwrite the data. I tried searching for a erase option in imgburn so I could erase prior to burning, but couldn't find it. Do I just let imgburn overwrite the disk or is there another program I need to use to erase the disk prior to reuse. edit: Oh yeah, I tried the built in format option in windows XP (yes, XP, win 7 coming very soon)and I guess it doesn't work with blu-ray Thanks Edited December 27, 2009 by fsh42na
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Overwriting is the way to go, erasing is pointless. There's an erase button next to the drive selection box. You can also right click the drive selection box or find 'erase' under Tools -> Drive.
