posey Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Hi, I have the following problem. I use DVDshrink combined with ImgBurn. Everything seems to work fine until ImgBurn starts verifying the content. The process does not end and I get a message like this at approximately 85% of the process. Thank you very much for your help. I/O Error Device [sONY DVD RW DW-Q28A KYS1] (D:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 28 00 00 1D B3 41 00 00 01 00 Interpretation: Read (10) ? Kenadjian Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 This is a typical poor quality media problem, can you please include the log from the burn? That will give much more needed info.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Princo aren't exactly known for being 'good' media. You'd do well to try something better - i.e. Verbatims (MCC dye) or Taiyo Yuden. You should also update your drives firmware. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2097 I'd go for the KYS4 version.
Kenadjian Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Ok, here is one typical log I usually have. Thanks for the help That's what we're here for, so, you're welcome. Now, if you follow the bosses sugestion (LIGHTNING_UK) you will find your problems will dissapear.
posey Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 Thank you for your help. I'll try a different kind of DVDs as told. Hope it works because I already have ten DVDs worthless and I'm not Japanese, so can't put them around my neck. A beginners question, can I update to firmware KYS4 even though mine is KYS1?. Thanks again, Carmen
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 That's the whole point of an update. You're on the initial version. There would then have been KYS2, then KYS3 and now there is KYS4. The number is expected to change as new updates are released.... don't assume you need to look for the same firmware version number. The only important thing is that the drive model number matches that of yours - and it does so you'll be fine.
