My writer works fine before but suddenly,

the write speed has slow down alot.

and the device buffer part keeps jumping from somewhere around 10% to 90%

Please tell me how to fix this problem, thanks in advance, here is my log

I'm guessing DMA issues.

Read the FAQ.

sorry for the trouble,

I've checked the FAQ, but i am not really sure what to look for.

I am not so familiar with computers, so, can you please tell me how can i fix the problem?

thanks

It's the 2nd post from the FAQ thread.

yes, i've read that when i first checked the FAQ,

but i checked device manager and seems like DMA is enabled, but problem remains

I have removed the device and im pretty sure it is DMA now. and something did actually change,

the burning speed has moved from too slow to too fast. I requested 2.4x, and before the reinstall of the device, it gave me around 1.0x,

and now after removing the device, it is 4.0x. Here is the log, i dont think theres much difference compare to the one above though.

Please help me if its possible. Thanks in advance.

There's nothing you can do about that.

2.4x isn't the 'be all and end all'. You should be burning at whatever speed your drive produces the best quality burns at - and that could be any one of the 'supported' write speeds.

Thanks for replying, but i am pretty sure it worked on 2.4x speed before. But somehow, it just messed up one day and i cannot recall what triggered it.

So, for the situation now is that i can only do 4.0x?

Yep, the lowest speed your drive supports on that media (with its current firmware version anyway) is 4x.

You can select any value you want but it'll only ever burn at 4x, 6x or 8x.
