I/O Errors when burning AVCHD 25 gig images only

Hey, I thought I had a bad drive, Pioneer BDR-203, after I was burning AVCHD images without issue for months. I had to switch media from Memorex 25 gigs to Maxwell, and I began to have issues. So, I found more Memorex, but with same problems. I still have no problems burning 8 gig disc images with Verbatim DVD+R DL. I've replaced the cables,(I've had that issue before) with no luck. I was then convinced that the drive was going out, so I purchased a Pioneer BDR-205. Straight out of the box it failed to write with same error log (listed). The only new programs I installed was Office 2010 RTM, updates from Microsoft, I've also updated the drives firmware to latest, as well as my BIOS and motherboard drivers... Not sure what is left to do?!? I even uninstalled ImgBurn and re-installed it just for shits and giggles.

I would really appreciate in other suggestions or comments.

Stumped,

Can it burn on a decent Verbatim BD-RE?

Don't keep wasting BD-R on the problem!

*What* you're burning makes no difference so 8GB Vs 25GB is not a valid observation. It just comes down to the media being totally different.

Ok, now I know I have an issue... The 8gb Verbatim discs are no longer working. I also have a IDE Pioneer RW burner that is working fine. I am guessing I have I/O SATA controller issue on the motherboard. Not sure how to fix that kind of thing, but to replace the board. The board website (Gigabyte) has no help on this issue. Anybody have a way of checking the I/O controller on a board?
