portalcore1 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Hello all, I've searched the forum, and cannot find this problem occurring previously. I'm creating a home video DVD using DVD Styler. I've created an 8.5 Gb folder where the authored dvd video is stored, and used a DVD+R disc and imgburn to write to a disc. The disc plays, but at specific locations (which I believe is stored on the second layer), the video and sound stop for about a second, then continue after skipping the second the video appears to freeze. The original videos don't have this problem, and using Power DVD, it appears that the DVD files on the hard disk don't have the problem. Could it be an issue with dual layer burning and VOB files, or just a case of being unluck where the 2 different dvd players, have the same problem. Also I did read that DVD-R are more compatible with the older dvd players, would this make a difference? Thanks.
Sewer Waste Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Your best bet would be to use Verbatim discs. I know they are more expensive, but they run more smoothly on all dvd drives. Should solve your problem. And if you are using Verbatim's I have no idea what your problem could be.
eSkRo Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) yepp! use Verbatim DVD+R Dual-Layer!! but burn as DVD-ROM Edited March 4, 2010 by eSkRo
portalcore1 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 yepp! use Verbatim DVD+R Dual-Layer!! but burn as DVD-ROM Do you mean as a DVD rom type in imgburn, rather than a dvd video disc? And I'll also try Verbatim. Just ran the dvd at work (not meant to really...) using VLC, and it appears to be ok so far, but trying it in another DVD player tonight. Thanks for the prompt responses to both of you.
