Files Order

In IMGBurn, I am copying approx 26 mp3 files to CD (mp3 is required by my client.) I change the order of the files in the large editor window. However, after the CD is done and I play the CD in any media player, the files are not in the order I put them in. My files have to be in a specific order for my client. Also, the order it burns them in doesn't appear to be in any specific order at all. Not by size, not alpha ... I even tried checking the Sort Files by Source List Order option in Settings, Build, Page 1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The filenames are stored alphabetically in the filesystem (they have to), and that option in the settings controls the order in which the files are physically located on the burned disc.

If you need them to play in a certain order then rename your files to 001-original_name.mp3, 002-original_name.mp3, etc, and they should be played in that order.

File names are stored alphabetically within the file system. They don't work if it's not done like that.

The file data is also stored alphabetically (on a per directory basis) unless you enable the option to sort the files by the list order (or probably 'add' order if you're using Advanced mode).

Typically, what you're trying to do serves no purpose. Just give the files proper names (i.e. 01 - name.mp3, 02 - name.mp3) and playback devices will behave properly.
