iddio Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) Hi, I would like to know what does happen when the burning process slows down to 0.0x (and then restart) due to empty buffer. I have accidentally opened a memory hungry application during the burn process and these messages appeared: Waiting for buffers to recover... Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... Is this disc quality (and readability) equal to an error-free burned disc? Thanks Edited March 31, 2010 by iddio
Cynthia Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Once burned a disc and made it so the buffer recover message showed up during the whole burn and I couldn't find any playback issues on that DVD Movie disc.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Because the laser if effectively put on hold (part of the BURNProof technology), you'll get some sort of link (although they call it zero loss linking, which is weird!) and that normally gives you a little PIF spike in PIPO/disc quality scans. Of course I don't study the effects on a daily basis so maybe they've improved things. As Cynthia said though, if the drive does its job properly (as it did for her) then the disc should still work just fine. Leave Verify enabled and that'll at least point out any immediate issues with it.
Cynthia Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Never did a scan on that disc as I had no scanner at that time. Think it was in the now deleted thread were you changed the Average Disc Queue Length values.
