TheHotTubsToHot Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) I have looked everywhere on the net found some cases that go back 3 years similar to mine but they never go to deep into explaining whats wrong so I figured I might as well ask the pros. I have a dell xps 410. I'm not computer savvy but if you show me how or where I can find it. Before I updated Imgburn it worked fine after the update though I got tons of miscompare and tons of other errors while verifying the disc. The videos worked on my dvd player but the quality just seemed "off" and idk. I read somewhere that it could be ASPI so I found the nero one and tried to register it and it said the specified module could not be found and it had worked without it before so now im confused. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Your drive did a bad job of burning the disc. Try cleaning it with a cleaning disc. 2.5.1.0 gets the size via a different command now (one more applicable to DVD's) and that command is returning the size of the track as '1'. My guess is that ALL the disc info your drive is reporting is complete rubbish (like the way the disc is now reported as DVD-RW). Go into Read mode and copy + paste everything from the disc info panel on the right when you've got that disc in the drive please. I say that because the source image was 2,285,872 sectors in size and neither of the drives are reporting a value anything like that. Anyway, as I thought, the Sony is fine (well, almost) and the NEC is completely wrong. The TOC info the NEC is reporting would only be correct if you'd burnt every sector on the disc... and you haven't. The Track info from the NEC is also junk. Notice the 'LTS: 1' value... that's the bit ImgBurn now uses for the track size. Previously it would have used the (also incorrect, but not in a way that would cause ImgBurn to issue an error) size from the TOC info (LBA range 0 - 2297887 = 2297888 sectors). Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc or just using some different discs (Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden). Even just changing the write speed to 8x or 12x might help. If that doesn't help, get yourself a new drive.

If that doesn't help, get yourself a new drive. I edited my second post yeah the read info and imgburn log were two different projects my goof but yeah i did one full project up above
