Where are you putting "the setting in"? ImgBurn automagically does that already. Also please post the log.

The Lite-On drives with the -98 designation are rebadged Sony/Optiarc drives (with NEC chipsets), and as of right now, they can NOT do bitsetting. At some point in the future, they will probably be able to, as the drives they are based on can using Liggy's bitsetting firmware, but when that will happen is anybody's guess. Lite-On has mostly switched to using rebadged Sony/Optiarc or NEC-chipset drives for their 24x DVD burners, and the older models based on the MediaTek chipset have been discontinued.

Added: Automatic change booktype support for the LiteOn drives using the NEC chipset ('iHASxxx Y' rather than 'iHASxxx A')

In theory it should auto set it as mmalves said.

As with the normal Optiarc drives, I guess you'd need the modified firmware to enable DVD+R and DVD+RW booktype options.

Standard firmware only handles DVD+R DL.

Once that's done, ImgBurn will automatically issue the command to change it to DVD-ROM, you shouldn't have to touch anything.

All Good now

with the modified firmware

thanks for all the help.
