Thomas Jung Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Hello, what is a DVD File, which can be created by selecting in the Menu: "Tools" -> "Create DVD File..." This generates me a file with the extension .dvd, but what is the sense of this file? It contains just the filename? Is this kind of file (I mean the *.dvd file) an "official" standard like the cue sheets for CDs? btw: Are theese Cue sheets only valid for CDs? If I create a cue sheet for a dvd I got the warning/error see: http://www.failure.bravehost.com/imgburn/files/ Thomas
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 DVD files are used by Virtual CloneDrive (and ImgBurn of course). It contains the media type, layer break position and names of the files that go to make up the image. Nothing is official, all of these things are made up. Yes, CUE files are just for CDs really.
Thomas Jung Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Hello, DVD files are used by Virtual CloneDrive (and ImgBurn of course). It contains the media type, layer break position and names of the files that go to make up the image. This confuses me, because I made a .dvd file with ImgBrun from an iso image but it contains only the filename of the iso image. See the example stored at http://www.failure.bravehost.com/imgburn/files/) But there are no media type infos, layer break positions or references to other files. I think I know why there are no information of layer break positions or references to other files (doesn't exist), but why is there no media type information? Thomas
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Did you configure those options within the window?! If not, that's why they aren't in the file.
