gandalf72 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) Hi, I am not sure if this can be done or not, I would like to use imgburn to burn dual layers, and download nzb's with newsbin pro. Everytime I do though the buffers go over the threshold and I have to stop playing music and or newsbin. Is there a setting I can change to allow me to do this? Disc is verb I started newsbin part way through the burn and stopped it within 10 seconds when buffers went down. Thanks in advance. I 08:41:05 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Try enabling the buffered I/O option on the I/O tab in the settings. As you've got loads of memory, try doubling the size of the buffer too. Oh and one last thing... update the firmware on your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S223B/files.html You want SB02.

Thanks for help, I upgraded firmware, Thank you very much for the link!! I changed the IO buffer to 512mb and attempted to use newsbin again. I just done another re run their, and only got one buffer threshold. When it got to 51% it lost the first buffer and was heavily reliant on the device buffer from that point onwards with 0% available on the first buffer. I seemed to have forgotten to have saved my options first time around as it burned that last one at full speed instead of the 2.4 I had previously slected. Just wanted to say thank you very much for your help it is very much appreciated. Edited May 6, 2010 by gandalf72
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 You don't really need it as big as that, 128mb would be more than enough. Did you make the change for buffered reads too? Try defragging your drive if you haven't already done so.

I dont think I have made the change to buffered reads - can you tell me where I do that please.
gandalf72 Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 Read post 2. I can confirm that I had ticked the box enabling the buffer recovery if this is what you were recommending. In the section below that the recovery section what should they be set to? Thanks in advance.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The default values are fine. So if in doubt, just click the 'Defaults' button and apply them for that tab.
