JorgeMSU Posted May 8, 2010 Share Posted May 8, 2010 I've burned a DVD recently with ImgBurn successfully with the same media and drive on this PC with no problem. I now have five coasters... Old Windows XP laptop Sony drive, Sony DVD-R media Writing from a USB external hard drive Have already tried rebooting, checked DMA (haven't deleted and rebooted), Only have 1.8 GB of C: drive free. You're perspective helped me get it done. I know it's time to upgrade, but if I can get by without spending a bunch of money on a new system or a drive right now I'm all for it. I'm going to try finding some 8x discs that are compatible with my ancient drive. Any suggestions? Cynthia Posted May 8, 2010 Share Posted May 8, 2010 Did you use the option Verify while you burned the disc. IMHO opinion it's safer to get a new drive. I agree that it's potentially frustrating and a long shot to find media that is going to be good for this drive. Do you have a suggestion for a good external drive?
