The 'zeroing sectors' part of the full erase will only be quick if you have formatted without spare areas or have turned 'FastWrite' on. This is a drive thing, they automatically verify each 'write' command as they go - thus it takes twice as long to do anything. As you can see below, mine is fine. Leave it going whilst you go out and do other stuff, it'll be done when you come back (as mine was). That particular part of the erase process (including the % complete itself) is 100% controlled by the drive. ImgBurn issues a single command and the drive does the rest - 'the rest' being certifying that every sector on the disc is ok (probably by a write -> read operation). Only the 'Zeroing Sectors' part would be slower if spare areas were present or FastWrite was disabled. That's the part where ImgBurn is actually writing all zeroes to all the sectors - which is basically the same as burning a normal image, only it's zeroed sectors instead of real data. You only have to format BD-RE discs once, after that you can just keep overwriting them. A quick erase is pointless so don't bother with those on BD-RE unless you're trying to hide (badly!) what was on them - all it does is write zeroes to the first few hundred sectors. You can tell the program to skip the certification and zeroing sectors bits if you want it to format instantly, but then you don't know if the disc is actually 100% ok or not.
