Try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. Cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc also could help. I've updated the firmware and tried cleaning, but still same problem. I forgot to include earlier, but I've been using Verbatim DVDs that I've been using with no problems. LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 19, 2010 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Try the other supported write speeds (as suggested earlier). If nothing works and you've given a different spindle of decent discs a shot, you should start looking at getting a new drive. What you're seeing there is exactly what my PX-716 did when it died.
