pjwhite Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I backed up a VHS tape on a VHS DVD recorder combo but can not get the menu option on the recorder to finalize the disc. Is there anyway to get this disc finalized with ImgBurn? Below is some information I got with ImgBurn: hp CDDVDW TS-H653R 0E00 (ATAPI) Current Profile: DVD+R Disc Information: Status: Incomplete State of Last Session: Incomplete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Free Sectors: 1,039,168 Free Space: 2,128,216,064 bytes Free Time: 230:57:43 (MM:SS:FF) Next Writable Address: 1255936 Track Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (LTSA: 0, LTS: 15872, LRA: 0) -> Track 02 (LTSA: 15888, LTS: 2279216, LRA: 0) Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Right click the drive drop down box (or Tools menu -> Drive) and select Close -> Track/Session/Disc (in that order).
pjwhite Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 Right click the drive drop down box (or Tools menu -> Drive) and select Close -> Track/Session/Disc (in that order). This is what happened when I did that: Close Track- seem to work because I received no errors Close Session: I/O Error Device: [0:1:0] hp CDDVDW TS-H653RE00 (D) (ATAPI) ScsisStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 5B 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Close Track/Session Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 72 03 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Session Fixation Error- Incomplete Track In Session Retry Cancel
pjwhite Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 and close disc failed too yeah? Yes it did. Is there anyway to get the information from the dvd onto my computer and then using my PC n Nero to make the disc?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Can't Explorer see what's on the disc? You could just point ImgBurn's Build mode at the drive with the disc in and have it make a new ISO. If Explorer can't see what's on the disc, try extracting it with something like IsoBuster. I've tweaked the next version of ImgBurn so the Close Track command will work with your disc. At the moment it only attempts to close track number 1... and your 'open' track is track number 2.

When will the next version be out so i can try it? Edited June 3, 2010 by pjwhite
