I have had success using IMGBURN (v 2.5.0.0) to create my own BD-ROM discs (no BD burner, just single layer DVD with small enough .M2TS files).

When I create the disc using your guidelines (adding \BDMV and \CERTIFICATE folders, UDF 2.5) it works fine in the BDP player I have (Sony S570) as long as I do not create the video export from the software with chapters. The difference seems to be having just a single M2TS file (00000.M2TS) versus multiple files with chapter references, or so I assume.

As soon as I add chapters with my video editor and create the disc with IMGBURN the Sony player sees the DVD-R (AVCHD) but will not play it. The same problem exists on a Samsung BDP we tried.

My question is, are there any modifications to the steps outlined in your guidelines to create the BD-ROM disc that address this or is it some other video software issue? I just thought I'd ask in case you have heard of this before.

Thanks,

- DE

Hi,

This isn't related to the burning phase, it must be an issue with what the player likes to play or how your authoring software is making the files.

The Doom9 forums have an area where people talk a lot about AVCHD compatibility / workarounds etc, maybe one of them will have run into the same issue and be able to help you.

OK - I appreciate that. Thought I'd check here just in case. Thanks for your response!
