How to create CD Audio image with correct CD Text

Hello to everybody,

 

how to create a correct CD audio image including with the CD text ?

 

i created *.bin file, *.cue file and *.cdt file,

 

i think in *.CDT file is consisting the CD text,

 

and now is the question, maybe the question could be stupid for some,

 

how to burn the created image BUT INCLUDING WITH *.CDT file ?

If you have a CD-RW you could burn that image to disc and check if the CD-Text is correct.

the main question is concerned for *.CDT file which i think consisting the CD text

 

what's happen with it, in case all the 3 files are in 1 directory: *.bin , *.cue and *.cdt

 

is the CD text loading direct ?

If you do a burn with Test Mode enabled it should say in the log if the CD-Text is being used or not.

if the CUE file references the CDT file it'll be used, if it doesn't then it won't.

 

So just open the CUE in notepad and look.

I currently use Gear Pro ME 7 for creating DDPs for mastering of CD, DVD-Video and DVD-ROM. However GPME 7 does not work under Windows 7 and the upgrade to GPME 8 is pricey for what is to us essentially a compatibility update.

 

I then noticed that ImgBurn had the capabilty for creating MD5 checksum files with ISOs, which could make them as safe as DDPs.

 

So...

a) Is there any advantage of using DDP over ISO+MD5?

If you have used ISO+MD5 masters, how did it go?

@Robert Bock - Thanks, for your opinion. You're probably right, especially where double-layered and/or double-sided DVD-Videos are concerned.

It's not designed to create master for replication.

Apart this- it's the most reliable burning software:)

@Yves Zimelman - ImgBurn does not produce MD5s by default, but you can them

turn on in the options.

 

@Andrew Kolakowski - I totally agree that ImgBurn is awesome for burning

discs, I use it for everything (including DVD-Video test discs) apart from

creating DDPs. I did ask LightningUK to consider adding DDP support to

ImgBurn, but he said that it didn't interest him, which is a shame.

 

 

But everyone's right I can't abandon DDP for pressed DVD-Video (as much as I'd

like to) due to CSS and layer breaks.

 

Regarding data discs, we've had a number of plants actively request ISO+MD5

masters over DDP. The reason for this appears to be that they like to run a

few basic checks with a burnt disc before it goes to glass, and they don't

have the facility to burn CDs/DVDs from a DDP.
