Just thought that slower would be more dependable and speed was never really a concern for me. Didn't realize that faster could solve problems. They're real TY. Been using them for about 3 years. Same kind. I get them from shop4tech.com Don't have a cleaning disc but I blew some compressed air in there. This drive was just purchased from newegg in February. So maybe it's the spindle of discs that's the problem (as mentioned earlier). Get some more TYG03 - but you still shouldn't burn at 4x, it's a waste of time. 8x is perfect. Richdom Posted July 26, 2010 Author Share Posted July 26, 2010 It's obvious that you use DVDShrink to make it to fit on a DVD5 but it's not obvious to me why to save to ISO an not Video_TS folder. You have to change that, in DVDShrink Settings > Backup > Target Device set it to Hard Disk Folder. Hey! That worked. I've been doing it the ISO way for so long I can't remember why. Posted July 26, 2010 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Burning an ISO or folder makes no difference, it all goes through the same 'burning' code in exactly the same way... so that wasn't why it worked. Well, you may have been right. It's worked twice but also made 8 coasters. I can't pinpoint what may be causing this. I hate to buy a new burner since I really just got this one a few months ago.
