Fast Erase (TOC only)

Erase -> Quick.

If it's not letting you do it quickly and you're using DVD+RW then it's because your drive isn't reporting the 'Formatted' status as 'Yes'.

Once you've fully formatted (Erase -> Full) a DVD+RW with ImgBurn (so the 'Formatted' status IS 'Yes'), don't let anything else mess it up - because they do.

like I said, it all ties in to the 'Formatted' status of the disc.

You can see it in the disc info panel on the right.

If it doesn't say 'Formatted: Yes', ImgBurn will prompt to format it properly.

Many programs leave the 'Formatted' status in limbo ('No (In Progress)' or 'No (Started)'), ImgBurn isn't one of them.

Get it formatted properly and then you can just overwrite what's on the disc each time you want to reuse it, there's no TOC erase on DVD+RW media (because it never changes!). A quick erase will just write zeros to the first X sectors to wipe out the file system descriptors. So if you're going to be overwriting the disc with new data anyway, quick erase is totally pointless and just helps to reduce the life of your disc.

Because all programs forced it so far. I didn't know you have to format it completely once.

Can't you just override this? Are there problem with 'mixed area' recordings (blank+prerecorded) expected? I think i've recorded this already without problems.
