LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Try writing at 8x. Then try at 4x if that doesn't work. Try some TYG02 dye discs (Taiyo Yuden). Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If it still creates coasters on everything, buy a new drive.

I forgot to check the verify box but when i played it in my player it works so im assuming im all good. My computer is brand new is it possible i didnt get a very good drive?
mmalves Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Slim burners are rubbish so you need to use high quality media (e.g. Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks) if you want to get good burns.

Ya i am using some verbatim disks, that got some good reviews on amazon, but they arent quite top of the line. When i look at the disks after i burn them i can clearly see waves and rings in the disk. But i did just burn one with another laptop and it burned perfectly, so i think that i just have a crappy burner.
