I/O Error with Nimbie NB11LS every 10 or so discs

Hi there,

Thank you for your time reading my post and for any help you can give me.

I have a Nimbie NB-11-LS attached to my win 7 desktop using the latest version of Imgburn. I really appreciate the product!

Every 10-15 discs I come back to find an error and at times the nimbie has disappeared as a device (the last time I verified this though was before I removed the daemon tools issue). I've found the nimbie software won't do a second item in its queue as the drive disappears and when I power cycle the nimbie I get a "Nimbie (2)" a new version every time so I can't use the queueing function. Also, I have a "unknown device" in device manager under usb (although both the autoloader and drive appear on the list as working properly so it could be unrelated).

Please see the log below (I've taken out many of the successful burns in the middle because it seemed too long to post):

The Verbatims seems to work and the other low quality brand gives you isues. I would stick with Verbatim.

Thank you, I will try Verbatims. It's just that I am having problems on the nimbie queue manager too - It won't go past the first burn to the next queue item. I only just bought this thing for $1000.

Also, I came back after last night, probably 20 discs burned (18 left on the queue), a complete looking (burned to the edges) failed dvd (winrar error missing header), and imgburn was closed.

The log is attached. Any help would be appreciated.

What's this 'nimbie queue manager' you keep mentioning?

There is nothing so specific within ImgBurn, the 'write queue' is for any and all systems/drives.

If it's not progressing onto the next queue item then the drive probably isn't ready.

Tell us (via screenshot) exactly what you see on the screen the next time it happens.

Verify your burns and use 8x, not 4x.

Thanks Lightning. The "Nimbie Queue Manager" comes with the autoloader, I just wanted to mention I'm having problems with that too...I've written to them for support regarding their program. Their program won't ever burn a second disc and the autoloader just drops out/disappears from device manager until I reset it (this happens at the end of every burn on their queue).

Imgburn gets through many discs and I was planning on just using it until I got this error.

I will get the screenshot and use the settings you suggest.

Also, I'm getting a windows notification that my mass storage device could be plugged into a faster usb 2.0 port. I only have 2.0 ports on my P5E Deluxe. My case also supports 2.0 but I'm not using the front ports anyway. I've changed ports and the error goes away, to come back several hours later.

I assume you've tried a different cable?

Do you have any devices plugged in that might be overloading the ports? (drawing too much power from them)

Sometimes it's better to plug power hungry devices into a powered USB hub.

You should at least try unplugging everything except the keyboard/mouse/nimbie unit from them.

I think you are right about the underpowered usb (the nimbie does have a separate adapter though I've got enough things plugged in to potentially create problems).

Just to let everyone know as well, I have reinstalled winx64 OS as I got a ssd and just did a run using the nimbie and imgburn of 41 discs without any problems. I found the readme file (props on this, very easy to use and understand, very nice that it opens the gui so you can see exactly what the options do!!!) and now I create images in batches too so the whole system is working very well now. I think this one is resolved.

My old OS was about a year old and it had been through a lot of changes, one in particular was that I had daemon tools installed (uninstalled it on advice in the log of imgburn) as well as several other emulation softwares and nero, I'm not certain I uninstalled the daemon tools spti driver properly or whatever that thing is....especially since it works flawlessly now.

FYI, the queue manager from Acronova does not work at all to burn, but this is no problem if imgburn works which it does. Thank you everyone for your help...
