charlieb000 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) hi, surprisingly this forum dont let you search for "md5" as its too short. i ask that imgburn also calculate the MD5 of the image file(s), because right now it appears to only calculate the data to be burnt to the disk. i had to use a seperate program called md5sums.exe to see the MD5 of the ISO (which was correct) and was different to what imgburn reported. if this was as you intended, then it is misleading. charlieb000 Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) i saw on a different post that it was already done.... however the md5 Imgburn reports (Imp ID, "image file implementation identifier") is NOT the same as what md5sums.exe reported. it can be obtained from here http://www.marksanborn.net/howto/verify-what-you-download-by-calculating-md5-sums-in-windows/ other forum topic is called "speeding up verify" Edited September 11, 2010 by charlieb000
ianymaty Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) Here is a nice Shell Extension that shows an extra tab of Checksums when right click and select Properties of a file and an optional "Create Checksum File" command to the shell's context menu http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/ Edited September 11, 2010 by ianymaty
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I'm not really sure what you're getting at with this thread. The MD5 option is in Tools -> Settings -> General -> Page 2 -> 'Calculate MD5 Hash Value'. The MD5 is then displayed in the Log window once the read/write/build has completed. HashTab is another shell extension you can use (I do).
