I have Sony Optiarc BD RW BD-5730S 1.02 Blu-ray burner and ImgBurn. I want burn some Blu-Ray movies on double layer medium, but there is some problem. Do you know, what is this problem for ? Now, i lost two BD-R dl discs and...

Where did you get the discs from? You might have a bad spindle/box/whatever.

 

Cleaning your drive with a cleaning disc may help.

 

Your version of ImgBurn is out of date btw.

I bought it on eBay, from seller with more then 10 000 positives.

 

My drive is 2 day old, but i try clean it.

If it's 2 days old, don't clean it.

 

I assume it came in a new laptop? Never buy a slimline drive by choice!

 

The drive shouldn't have a problem burning the discs but obviously it does.

 

There's no magic fix for it because it should just work.

 

Something about the drive/firmware/media combo just isn't working as it should be so you need to change 1 or more of those 3 things to correct the problem. Take your pick on which one that is.

No, i bought it to my PC, i have no laptop. I have Mini-ITX case with slim drive position, so i had buy this slim drive or some external drive. I bought this one... Firmware is newest (version 1.02), so i afraid that it is wrong discs - all 15 what i have now. I will buy another new one and i will see.

now i have another problem. Previous problem i solved re-install windows and everything seems OK. I burned something about 5 blu-ray's and all were OK. But now, another BD-R dl i have damage.

 

Today, i first burn movie on BD-RE dl before i burn it on BD-R dl. I burned it on BD-RE dl and movie were OK. So i burned it on BD-R dl and ImgBurn writes fail. At the end of burning it write : Synchronise Cache Failed! - Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure. When i put disc to Blu-Ray player, it write "check the disc".

 

Does anyone know, what is wrong ?

But i confused, for now. I thought that re-install windows help.

 

So have you some idea, why some BD-R are burned OK and some not ? All discs are from one package (10 pieces).

Reinstalling shouldn't fix what is essentially a hardware error.

 

I expect all the burns are close to failing... therefore occasionally, some do.

You think that Sony Blu-Ray drive is bad ? It is hardly reclaim, because it is failing only sometimes.
