Failure to complete DL burn

I am having occasional problems burning XBOX 360 games. This isn't always the case as some games

will burn fine with no issues.

Some games however, are seemingly burning correctly until the Completion Bar reaches 95%.

The Time Remaining slowly runs out, then it just sits there doing nothing. I can cancel the burn,

but it just sits there refusing to go away, whilst at the same time my drive continues to run at

speed and I cannot eject the disk and I cannot kill the program.

I know one of the first questions your going to ask is what type of disks I am using. I am using

Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL Full Face Printable disks.

As you can see from the image below, I left the program running for over 40 minutes with absolutely

no further progress being made.

As you can see from the following image, after waiting over 45 minutes I manually cancelled the burn.

This cleared both the Buffer and Device buffers progress bars and added a further two entries to

the log which can be seen in the image. However ImgBurn will not shut down, my drive continues

to run at speed and the drives light continues to blink.

As you can see from the following image it has now been well over an hour since I started, and the

program still has not shutdown. I cannot manually close the program and I cannot open the drive.

I could now leave this program as it is until Hell freezes over and it will not make a blind bit of

difference. It will not close down on its own and the drive will never stop spinning.

To fix this, the only course of action I have found that works is forcing the computer to restart.

I can actually get rid of the program by ending the task in Windows Task Manager, and I can also

make the disk stop spinning by forcing it to eject by placing a pin in the hole on the front of

the drive. However the drive will continue to be out of commission until I force restart the

whole machine.

Please can somebody help to diagnose the problem. As you can probably understand it is a huge

pain in the ass to keep forcing my computer to restart. Not to mention the huge cost of

wasting all these disks. :(

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and sorry for the long post.

Try the other supported speeds... say 4x.

Thanks, I have tried that and it was successful.

But, as I stated in my post this is only occurring from time to time, and can be successful when trying the burn for the second or third time. Obviously because of the expense of the disks, that is not ideal.

I'll try burning everything from now on at 4x as you suggest. If the problem persists I will let you know.

Thanks for taking the time to help me.
