dcahrakos Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) Hey there, I recently started getting this error, I was able to burn discs no problem before but after taking a break from burning them for a little over a month, I now get the following error in ImgBurn: I 15:34:18 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Your drivers are probably messing with the real error message. What controller is the drive connected to? What chipset does your motherboard use? Read this, it tells you some things you can try. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Update ImgBurn too.
dcahrakos Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Chipset is: Intel PM45 (Cantiga-PM) + ICH9M (Base) Controller is: SATA I've read the thread, but I already tried looking for updated firmware, I cant seem to find any. If I have to I will run out and buy a new DVD drive but I wanted to try to get this one working first since it use to work perfectly fine.
mmalves Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Try the DMA fix as per the 2nd post from the FAQ thread.
dcahrakos Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Ok, so I took a look at the DMA fix method in the faq. Both "ATA Channel 0" and "ATA Channel 1" have DMA enabled.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I still don't get how people can miss the 'Important' bit! Are you able to install the 'STOR_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe' program from here? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/detail_desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=15251
dcahrakos Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) I didn't so much miss the "important" bit as skipped over it because i've already uninstalled it and rebooted before even coming here for help lol. I was able to install that software, and will reboot now. Edit: Am now trying to burn after installing the "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" software you linked. Will reply back with results. edit2: Thanks Lightning UK that worked and I can now burn flawlessly again!! Thank you so much. Edited October 4, 2010 by dcahrakos
