thesentinal Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hi, I need some help. I'm trying to make a dvd-rom but I can't change the booktype. This is because my dvd drive isn't listed on the booktyping page. Is there any way to get around or fix this? My dvd drive does write dvd-dl's. I have a Toshiba Satellite, and my dvd drive is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVRKD08L ATA DEVICE. -Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Pioneer drives automatically booktype DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM anyway. There are no commands available for software to manipulate what it does.
thesentinal Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Thanks Lightning U.K. Do you know how I can double check that my discs burn as dvd-roms? Because when I go to burn a disc it always lists the booktype as dvd-r media. Edited October 5, 2010 by thesentinal
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Do you verify your burns? The booktype is mentioned in the log when that starts. Failing that, put the disc back in the drive, switch to Read mode and look at 'Physical Format Information (Last Recorded)' in the disc info text on the right.
