Trouble burning to .mkv to DVD-R

Hi everyone,

-I was in the process of burning a blu-ray mkv file to DVD(-R) when I noticed my drive making noises like it hit a brick wall and kept trying to go through.

-After about 13 tries of it trying to recover from whatever the problem was, ImgBurn gave me a Command Sequence Error.

A few things...

-Encoding is H.264 AAC (can this be muxed? I received an error from TSmuxer: [unsupported media type 15 for AVCHD/Blu-ray muxing])

-Went through the whole conversion process (yielding the two folders of BDMV and Cert).

-checked to make sure the disc capacity is large enough, and only hit a snag during the actual burning process.

-I can only assume that it is the fact that I am using DVD-R based on the fact that several others have had a similar problem.

-Perhaps my burner is incompatible with -R? (Slimtype DVD A DS8A1H WH66). Maybe +R instead?

Anyways, I'd like to have a solid explanation/solution to this problem if anyone is knowledgeable enough and willing to help out, so take a look:

Here's the complete log (I've made a note of where the problem may have started):

W 22:32:10 Potential 'ReadBufferCapacity' Deferred Error - Write Error

That's the issue here, your drive reported a 'Write Error' at the start of the burn.

The noises you heard were probably just it trying very hard to burn the disc for you.

Get yourself some decent Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden media and give it another go.

If you fancy it, you could try setting the Write Speed to 4x and burning again on a new one of those discs too.

If the drive is getting old, cleaning it with a cleaning discs may help.
