Am I doing something wrong?

Okay, so I don't use VERBATIM but RICOH. However when I burn them with Nero 6.6.1.15 then they work in the standalone player! But Nero changes some thousand bits in 1 or 2 files (I am not talking about ifo and bup files). For example when burning a DL video DVD with Nero then Vts_01_3.vob is not exactly the same anymore (I always do a binary file compare). The file was 800 MB long and starting from position 677 MB some thousand bits were different. This does not happen with DL data DVDs, only with video DVDs! Strange indeed. I know this is not a Nero forum.

I tried imgburn and every bit is fine but as having said DL video DVDs do not work in standalone players. I wanted to burn at 2.4x speed but the slowest possible was 4x speed.

Any hints are welcome.

Try the other supported write speeds. (notice that 2.4x isn't even an option)

Verify your burns.

Try the 'Incremental' Write Type (in the Settings) if you fancy it.

As for changing bits in the files, if the files are ok in the first place, that shouldn't make a difference. Preparing 'working' source files is not ImgBurn's job/problem.
