Using ImgBurn, I've burnt some audio CDs from mono mp3 tracks (11025Hz sample rate). They burnt OK and verified OK but don't sound right; they sound tinny as if some frequency bands have been missed out.

Any comments or ideas?

The DirectShow filters used in the conversion must be doing a bad job.

I don't pick and choose them, I just provide DirectShow with the source file and tell it the output format I require - it does all the stuff inbetween.

OK thanks for the reply. I guess I need to convert them to wav files first then. Can I just add, I feel honoured to be spoken to by a/the creator of ImgBurn. This is the first problem I've had with it and it is my burning app of choice having tried a good few free ones - at least it was until I went over to Ubuntu. I use K3B there, but that doesn't verify audio CDs, so I need to get ImgBurn working under Wine or VirtualBox. Thanks for a fantastic bit of software.
